Sarah Stanbridge - Ofsted Registered Childminder
My name is Sarah and I have been a registered childminder since 2002.
I am married to Andrew and we have three children, Lauren, William and Grace.
We have a Springer Spaniel called Lillie, a budgie called Shrek, 2 gerbils called morgana and gwen plus Flopsie the rabbit.
We live in a spacious 4 bedroom terraced house in Sompting, West Sussex.
Neither Andrew or myself smoke.
Both Andrew and I have been CRB checked and I have completed an ICP childminding course and hold an upto date Paediatric First Aid certificate.
I have a Basic Food Hygeine certificate and have completed a Child Protection Course.
I hold a full clean driving licence and my car is insured for business use.
(However, our car is a family car and is shared between andrew and I. Andrew works shifts and needs the car to get him to and from work early in the morning or home late at night. Because of this I cannot guarantee to have use of the car every day. On the days that Andrew has the car we walk or use public transport if travelling further afield.)
I am registered with OFSTED, I am a member of the NCMA and I have public liability insurance.
I provide a safe and stimulating environment where your child will be safe and happy.
I have a wide range of toys and games to suit all ages and abilities.
I providequality childminding services from 8.00am – 6.00pm (outside these hours can be arranged) in my own home.
Drop-off and collections available for children who attend Sompting Village Primary School and local pre-schools.
My home has a friendly atmosphere where children are made to feel welcome.
Children in my care are provided with a healthy balanced diet.
I work towards OFSTED standards and I follow the statutory framework for the EARLY YEARS FOUNDATION STAGE (EYFS).
I work in Partnership with parents and share information about their children on a daily basis.
I have written references from past and present parents to view.
During my last OFSTED inspection in November 2011I was graded overall GOOD with 3 OUTSTANDINGS in outcomes for children.
Why Choose a Childminder? A Childminder can offer a far more flexible style of childcare than the more formal arrangements of day nurseries or school clubs. We are inspected regularly to ensure that we meet certain standards and are fully insured. I am registed to care for no more than 5 children under the age of 8 and only 3 may be under 5 and of these only 1 may be under a year which means that children in my care will receive plenty of individual care and attention - a ratio that day nurseries and school clubs can not hope to achieve. Parents know that both they and their child will be forming a relationship with just one carer. Recent research has shown that children benefit from care in a “family” style environment, where they can bond with a regular caregiver. Childminders can care for children from birth to teenagers. Brothers and Sisters of all ages can be looked after together offering a continuity of care that other forms of childcare can not match. More flexibility around meal times, sleep times and planned activities. Hours are far more flexible than those of a day nursery or school club, especially valuable when parents work part-time or unusual hours. Childminders offer greater flexibility because they work from their own homes. The Families, Children and Child Care study said that Childminders are the next best thing to being at home with Mother. A Registered Childminder has the advantage of being able to offer good quality care for children in a secure, loving, home environment. |
